The Carpbusters Minnesota Challenge 2009:
1000 bucks if we cant help your lake !
We at Carpbusters for years now have claimed that the negative impact Carps have on closed system
lakes can be reversed by using sportsmen as part of an integrated pest management plan. Lakes
will rebound if the mucking carp are controlled. So here goes. We are going to put our money where
our mouth is. Give us one year, access to one lake in the Twin Cities area, pay for the carp
disposal and we will improve that lakes water quality or we will give you 1000 bucks.
Any Lake is fine, we would prefer one with a conservation impact like a waterfowl lake but we are
easy. We would love to work with Ducks Unlimited, The Nature Conservancy, The University of
Minnesota or other conservation groups on this challenge but we would be happy to work with lake
associations too. Heck we will take any closed in Lake in the Twin Cities area and change it for
the better for only fish haul off fees. We know we can remove tons of carp without impacting
native fish so give us a chance to change your lake. One lake will get the Carpbuster treatment
free for a 12 month period and we will prove carpbusting should be a part of Minnesota's and
America's carp management plan.
We will photo before and after pics and post em on our website and encourage the local media,
Minnesota DNR and Biologist to watch the challenge. We will encourage the DNR and the U of M
Biologist to work with us and judge as to whether our carpbusting made a difference over a 12
month period.
